GENERAL INFORMATION
H & GC Villas & Apartments use villas, apartments and houses that are
all privately owned by individual owners and are therefore all different from
each other. We inspect all the properties before we take them on to ensure a
good standard but furnishings and equipment will vary from property to
property. We try to describe the type of properties we offer fairly and
honestly from the ones with charm and character that might be slightly old
fashioned to the top of the range stunning villas so that you are in no doubt
about what you are booking and we feel that we can offer a wide choice from the
most modest to the most luxurious.
As the season goes on, it is difficult for the villa managers and their staff
to identify the small problems such as broken light bulbs, missing wine glasses
and sticking cupboard doors etc., on the checks they make between each booking.
High season especially can be hectic and we hope you will be patient and
understanding whilst you wait for these to be attended to. Each villa has a
management company whose numbers you will have to report these and any more
urgent problems. The managers will do their best to respond appropriately
according to the level of urgency.
Plumbing and electrical problems once reported can take longer to deal with
than in the UK due to the lack of 24 hour call out facilities but you can be
assured that the managers will do their best to fix problems as fast as they
can given the rather more "laid back" attitude on the island. There are power
cuts in various resorts quite often due to the volume of consumption especially
during the high season. Building work does very occasionally cause problems if
it is happening next to your villa but if we are aware of it when we take on
the villa it will be mentioned on the website description and the prices will
be lowered accordingly.
At the very beginning and end of the season, local shops, restaurants and bars
which we have mentioned in our website descriptions might not have opened or
will have closed early. This is entirely out of our hands and changes from
season to season, week to week depending on their level of business.
During bad weather, rain or high winds, your pool may not be as clean and clear
as you would expect. Normally pools are cleaned twice a week and it may not be
possible to deal with the problem immediately but again, the villa managers
will do their best.
